Isabel García Ama de casa, Alborea, Albacete 

Isabel García es ama de casa y vive en Alborea, Albacete. Es la mujer de un agricultor y conoce bien el campo, así como los cambios que se han producido en el mismo. Isabel García comenta que el cambio en el clima se ha notado mucho en el entorno de su pueblo. Ya no existe la regularidad que tenían antaño las estaciones. Ahora se pasa directamente del invierno al verano, y las estaciones intermedias no se notan. Antes, el tiempo iba mejorando en primavera poco a poco hasta llegar al verano, y durante el otoño el calor también declinaba progresivamente.


Isabel García recuerda cómo hace años nevaba mucho más y durante más tiempo. Los copos de nieve eran además muy grandes y, cuando entraba el duro invierno, los hombres podían llegar a pasar hasta dos meses sin poder ir al campo a trabajar. Nevaba varias veces al año durante los meses más fríos, mientras que ahora, como mucho, nieva solamente una vez. También llovía mucho más, incluso en verano. Caían tormentas, seguidas de sol, y volvía a llover después, haciendo que la tierra se empapase. En el campo había pozos que rebosaban agua y a los que acudía el ganado a beber. Eran manantiales que tenían agua incluso en verano. Ahora estos pozos están secos. Las lluvias caían de forma más regular y la tierra se mantenía con humedad. Había más agua subterránea que además se respetaba. En la actualidad, en cambio, se pueden pasar tres años sin llover y cuando llegan las lluvias caen de forma mucho más torrencial, arrastrando la tierra y causando erosión. Esto ocasiona enormes desastres tanto para la agricultura como para la tierra misma. Isabel García comenta que puede producirse un invierno atípico, como el de 2009-2010, en el que ha llovido más y ha nevado tres veces, pero que eso ya no ocurre de manera regular todos los años, como sucedía antes.

Antaño, el campo estaba más verde en general porque había más agua y más humedad. Cuando contempla su tierra, esta ama de casa albaceteña ve el campo mucho más seco que antes y afirma que tiene que haber alguna relación entre los gases que se emiten a la atmósfera y los cambios que se están produciendo en su entorno. Hace años, paseando por las cunetas de las carreteras corría el agua. Hoy todo eso está seco. Para Isabel García, el cambio en el clima es algo que claramente se ve.
